The 20 page CD booklet & the vinyl edition’s fold out cover of Stefan Goldmann’s 17:50 present pictures by Bulgarian photographer Dimitar Variysky. These are part of the series “Mall of Malashevtsi” – an ongoing documentation of Sofia’s Malashevci bitak market.

The remnants of a post-socialist consumer society, most likely picked out of the garbage before being offered for sale, provide what seems like a visual analogy to Chalga music – whose off-kilter synthetic sound aesthetics were the initial inspiration for 17:50.
